ArcFM Desktop 10.6.1 Release Contents

The ArcFM Desktop installer allows you to upgrade ArcFM as well as the Designer, Conduit Manager, and Redliner extensions. License that correspond to the current version are required to run these ArcFM Desktop extensions.

New functionality is described in What's New in 10.6.1?.

ArcFM

ArcFM is a powerful collection of tools for managing, modeling, and editing facility and landbase data in an enterprise system.

ArcFM 10.6.1 contains the following bug fixes:

• CLS-54060 - WFM standalone does not work without ArcFM installed.
• CLS-57453 - Initialize Water Trace Weights doesn't consult Material Conductivity domain.
• CLS-57539 - IMMMultiItem.ITemMessage is never called.
• CLS-58074 - Attribute Editor options default to "Drawing Order" but are actually sorted alphabetically.
• CLS-58080 - User Page Templates and Map Book are not sorted in Data Source Wizard.
• CLS-58346 - Setting Trim Distance to .5 or less removes the feature in one direction.
• CLS-58463 - In Oracle, all users are deleted when 2nd user is deleted, then 1st user is deleted.
• CLS-58484 - ArcFM Structure Relate Autoupdater not firing due to ESRI connectivity rules.
• CLS-58764 - Model Names tab in ArcCatalog runs queries on tables other than the MM model names tables.

ArcFM Solution Mobile

The ArcFM Mobile Solution allows utilities to leverage ArcFM and Designer functionality in the field if the appropriate licenses are in place.

ArcFM Solution Mobile 10.6.1 contains the following bug fixes:

• CLS-64199 - R6034 error thrown when loading stored display in Engine Viewer. 

Conduit Manager and Underground Facilities Manager

Conduit Manager is an integrated set of tools and dialogs to add, annotate, and maintain the underground infrastructure of the utility network system. The Underground Facility Manager allows you to create and manage underground structures that connect the conduit.

Conduit Manager and Underground Facilities Manager 10.6.1 contain the following bug fixes:

• CLS-58774 - Error logged on placing the Duct bank favorite on the same Facility diagram where it was created.
• CLS-63686 - Duct Bank Favorites cannot be created or used when in features pane.
• CLS-63968 - ULSTEXT (Conduit Manager Cross Section Annotation) moves away from diagram even with Multiplier values set.
• CLS-65169 - Adding a new Duct bank in Conduit Manager renumbers all the ducts on the wall where the new Duct bank is added when using the Create Opposite functionality.
• CLS-66641 - Unable to save UFM favorites.
• CLS-67234 - Conduits created from existing duct banks do not sync.
• CLS-67829 - Conduit list's scrollbar disappears on OS multipliers higher than 100%.
• CLS-68484 - Using rectangular ducts causes updates to CX anno to rotate on update.

Designer

Designer provides an integrated environment for preparing construction work sketches and job cost estimates. It also provides an automated means to update the baseline corporate GIS database, based on changes to the electrical, gas, and water distribution facilities shown in the work sketch.

Designer 10.6.1 contains the following bug fixes:

• CLS-55791 - Designer Tab allows you to save record with NULL value in required field.
• CLS-57219 - Work Request polygon Workflow status changes to NONE instead of Complete.
• CLS-57314 - Adding a non-GIS CU inserts it into multiple levels of the tree at once.
• CLS-57786 - CU's made from non-Designer objects will prevent a Design from opening with no warning or message is given.
• CLS-59581 - Extended Data Definition Table displays None, but is set in XML.
• CLS-62561 - CUs with same code, name and description are only shown once in CU Admin tool.
• CLS-63317 - Workflow Manager CUs checkbox is not shown in Export section of PX Admin tool.
• CLS-63603 - Design opens in wrong data frame.
• CLS-63770 - Non-GIS CUs are not included in Design Tree.
• CLS-63853 - QA/QC doesn't run for a CU with Replace work function.
• CLS-65784 - CU tab search is inconsistent with Select Non-GIS CUs search field behavior.
• CLS-66745 - Errors when placing a streetlight when there's a broken mosaic layer in the map.

Designer Express

Designer Express creates a quick construction sketch and cost estimate while relaxing some of the GIS and Accounting principles that can be handled later in the design process.

Designer Express 10.6.1 contains the following bug fixes:

• CLS-65237 - The length reported for sketched express features does not update correctly after after modifying the sketch.

Network Adapter Classic

Network Adapter Classic provides an interface to export a selected feeder from the geodatabase and import it into a MultiSpeak compliant analysis engine such as Milsoft.

Network Adapter Classic 10.6.1 contains the following bug fixes:

Network Adapter Standalone

Network Adapter Standalone supports exports of network feeders from an ArcFM geodatabase to MultiSpeak and CIM XMLs, allowing import to Schneider Electric DMS, Windmil engineering analysis tool, and other solutions.

Network Adapter Standalone 10.6.1 contains the following bug fixes:

• There were no bug fixes for this product.

Object Reader for ArcMap

The ArcFM Object Reader provides ArcFM custom geo-objects that allow read-only access to ArcFM data in the geodatabase. Object Reader may be used only with an ArcFM geodatabase and when no other ArcFM Solution Desktop product is installed.
Separate installers are provided for Object Reader to work with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, and for background geoprocessing in a desktop environment. The latter two are 64 bit applications.

The Object Reader for Background Geoprocessing was designed to enable running 64-bit GP geoprocessing tools in the background while you have ArcMap open.  It does not support .mdb or .xls based databases or tables.  It requires that you have ArcGIS Desktop Background Geoprocessing (64-bit) and Object Reader for ArcMap to be installed as well.
 

Object Reader 10.6.1 contains the following bug fixes:

Installation Instructions

The 10.6.1 installers are complete installers for versions of ArcFM Solution. As such, you will first need to uninstall any version of ArcFM Solution. 

PRE-INSTALLATION NOTES

Perform the following steps, in sequence, to install ArcFM Desktop:

1. Navigate to Downloads.
2. Double-click the Microsoft installer file for this product.
3. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.

Known Issue

• ArcGIS - The ArcFM Data Source Wizard can experience a memory leak when using SQL Server databases. (Esri Bug NIM080967)
• ArcGIS - ArcFM Map Book Editor Preview crashes ArcMap when the Bing map from ArcGIS Online is in a stored display.
• ArcGIS - Moving a WMS layer out of a group layer can lead to a crash when switching stored displays.
• ArcFM - For Oracle clients using Stored Displays that contain joins, you must use direct connect if you want to be able to switch your stored display while already in an open session and have joined layers point to the proper version. TNS-style connections won't work in this case.
• ArcFM - Labels from underlying features will show through a Map Inset placed on top of them (in terms of drawing order), as per Esri bug BUG-000106546.
• ArcFM - The Find Feeder tool experiences slowdowns when using Windows Server 2012, as there are delays between entered keystrokes appearing in the UI and doing automatic searching.  These issues haven't been noticed in any other operating system, and are fixed if Windows Server 2016 is used.  Note that the issue is exacerbated by a database with a large number of feeders.  The version of ArcFM code doesn't matter in this case, as the problematic interaction is within the OS framework.
• ArcFM Desktop & Viewer - A non-exact match search in a numerical field on the ArcFM Display Field Locator will not return Feeder Manager 2 fields because of Esri bug NIM096302.
• Conduit Manager - Cannot change alignment of cross section annotation. (MM54332)
• Conduit Manager - Feeder Manager 2.0 fields cannot be configured to show in cross-section annotation.
• Display Scaling Issues - Certain forms in the ArcFM Solution written in legacy coding languages (Workflow Manager and Session Manager are two examples) may show display scaling issues at high DPI (greater than 100%) settings.  Microsoft has made significant display scaling improvements in the latest .NET framework and in Windows 10 to make it possible to fix these issues, so they are fixed at 10.6.1 and with Windows 10.  Using earlier versions of ArcFM Solution OR using Windows 7 will not contain fixes for these high DPI display issues.
• Feeder Manager 2 - FM2 joins appear to break annotation expressions. This is because annotation expressions are defined in ArcCatalog, where they are defined to reference a field as LABELTEXT. When you add FM2 joins (or any other join) to your map, the field is prepended with information to make it fully qualified, causing ArcCatalog to not recognize the field. A bug has been filed with Esri.
• Publishing .MXD's with Feeder Manager 2 - Any customers using FM2 joins that are saved within an MXD or Stored Display will need to remove and re-add the joins before publishing the MXD. Automatic joins will point to the correct FM2 workspace when the map is published and will not have this same issue.
• File Geodatabase Compression - If you enable the "Compress File Geodatabase" option in Geodatabase Replication, the replica will fail. (Esri Bug)
• Help - Our context sensitive help opens two tabs in a web browser. (Esri BUG-000096609)
• Mobile - Using Mobile Sessions and Designs to edit data that causes changes in the Feeder Manager network is not supported. Feeder Manager 2.0 data does not update after replaying mobile sessions, resulting in incorrect Feeder Manager 2.0 data. Applications must be restarted for the changes to appear. 

Documentation

Schneider Electric no longer ships static help files with each software release. All ArcFM Using and Configuration guides are available in the ArcFM Solution Resource Center. The guides are updated on a regular basis. You can view this information before installing the latest release.
