ArcFM Engine 10.2.1c SP1 Release Contents
Schneider Electric offers three ArcFM Engine products:
- ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine provides query and display tools for the ArcGIS Engine geodatabases. It also has Redliner and Inspector extensions.
- The ArcFM Engine Developer Kit provides the development tools necessary to create a custom ArcFM Engine application.
- ArcFM Engine Runtime is necessary for users who wish to run a custom application developed with ArcFM Engine Developer Kit.
There is no new ArcFM Engine functionality in the 10.2.1c SP1 release of ArcFM Solution. ArcFM Engine 10.2.1c SP1 is provided solely for compatibility with the 10.2.1c SP1 suite. All the patches released in ArcFM Engine 10.2.1c are automatically included in ArcFM Engine 10.2.1c SP1.

ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine
Based on Esri's ArcGIS Engine and built with the ArcFM Engine Developer Kit, ArcFM Viewer provides the following value:
- High-performance, robust query and display tool
- View, trace, and query data to minimize costs
- Optimize maintenance and construction investment to get the most from the facility network
To launch ArcFM Viewer, select ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine from the ArcFM Solution folder on the Start Menu.
ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine 10.2.1c SP1 contains the following bug fixes:
- CLS-61201 - Cannot edit and save feature twice in single engine viewer session
- CLS-61927 - 150% zoom level causes rendering issues with ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine session manager
- CLS-62259 - Placing annotation graphics in Engine Viewer triggers full-map refreshes or will not draw
ArcFM Engine Developer Kit
ArcFM Engine is a collection of tools for software developers. It provides the objects necessary to develop a custom application for viewing ArcFM data in your enterprise system. The software components that compose the ArcFM Engine may be used with various programming interfaces such as .NET and COM.
ArcFM Engine Developer Kit 10.2.1c SP1 contains the following bug fixes:

ArcFM Engine Runtime
ArcFM Engine Runtime provides the required infrastructure to run custom applications built with the ArcFM Engine Developer Kit. ArcFM Engine custom applications executed with ArcFM Engine Runtime may be executed on top of ArcGIS Engine Runtime.
ArcFM Engine Runtime 10.2.1c SP1 contains the following bug fixes:

Editor Extension
The Editor extension provides users with the ability to perform geodatabase edits while using an ArcFM Solution application or a custom application built on ArcFM Engine. This extension requires the ArcGIS Geodatabase Update Extension and is only available programmatically, using MMAppInitialize. The Editor extension requires its own license.
Editor Extension 10.2.1c SP1 contains the following bug fixes:
- There were no bug fixes made for this product in the 10.2.1c SP1 release.
Inspector Extension
The Inspector extension provides users with the functionality of ArcFM Viewer and the Redliner extension along with the following additional value:
- Update existing attributes on features
- Create, edit, and manage related records
- Initiate inspection sessions using ArcFM’s Session Manager in the office or in the field
- Update attribute data and add markups
- Send sessions back to the enterprise to be incorporated into the workflow for updates
Inspector Extension 10.2.1c SP1 contains the following bug fixes:
- CLS-61927 - 150% zoom level causes rendering issues with ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine session manager
Redliner Extension
Redliner functionality is available in ArcFM by default when a license is purchased, and it provides the following value:
- Graphics-only markup environment in ArcFM Viewer
- Used to relay information from the field to the enterprise as follows:
- Field user accesses ArcFM Viewer with the Redliner extension to sketch using graphics
- ArcFM Editor receives job - with redlines - and makes edits to the enterprise ArcSDE Geodatabase
Redliner Extension 10.2.1c SP1 contains the following bug fixes:
- There were no bug fixes made for this product in the 10.2.1c SP1 release.

Installation Instructions
PRE-INSTALLATION NOTES
- Ensure that your hardware and software meet the ArcGIS system requirements.
- Ensure that your hardware and software meet the ArcFM supported versions. You can search for supported versions on the lower left panel of the GIS Support place.
- ArcFM Engine 10.2.1c SP1 requires a complete upgrade to ArcGIS 10.2.1. ArcGIS must be upgraded before you upgrade to ArcFM Engine 10.2.1c SP1.
- When you upgrade to ArcFM Engine 10.2.1c SP1, you must upgrade all ArcFM Solution products. Mixed versions of ArcFM Solution products are not supported.
- ArcFM Engine 10.2.1c SP1 requires that you have ArcFM Engine 10.2.1c installed.
- Anti-Spyware applications must be disabled before installation to avoid interference with the installation. They may be restarted after installation is complete.
Perform the following steps, in sequence, to install ArcFM Engine:
- Navigate to GIS Downloads.
- Double-click the Microsoft installer file for this product.
- Follow the instructions to complete the installation.
Known Issues
- ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine - Pan/zoom performance in an Engine-only environment is very poor.
- ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine - Custom scales in an MXD are not displayed in Viewer for Engine. (Esri Bug NIM083903)
- Editing data in Mobile Sessions and Designs is not supported. Feeder Manager 2.0 data does not update after replaying mobile sessions, resulting in incorrect Feeder Manager 2.0 data. Changes only display after applications are restarted.
- To upgrade from a pre-10.1 environment, you may have to edit your Master.custom.layout file to update assembly versions. See the Import/Export Configuration topic in the Engine Configuration guide for more information.

SDK Installer: To install the ArcFM Solution SDK Documentation, the Microsoft Windows SDK or Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 or later must be installed. Installing the SDK will take several minutes. The ArcFM Solution Resource Center contains information about everything available in the SDK installer as well as technical white papers and information on free tools.
