Installation Instructions
Pre-Installation Notes
Perform the following steps, in sequence, to install ArcFM Editor XI for the first time using this latest release:
- Navigate to Product Downloads.
- Find the ArcFM Editor 2025 C1 zip file for the ArcFM Editor 2025 C1 install.
- Optional: Check to make sure the SHA1 is as expected:

Update to 2024 C1:
Existing installations of ArcFM Editor are updated automatically, and the new version will be available the next time a user logs into Editor XI. You will be notified of the new update and prompted to manually restart ArcGIS Pro to install and accept the updates. The only time updates are not automatically applied is when an administrator has 'pinned' a version with the Rollout plugin for Solution Center. This will prevent updates from installing and require a manual installation to update to the latest version.

- As of release 11.5.2, ArcFM Editor requires ArcGIS Pro 3.1 and also supports Enterprise 11.1. For more details, see ArcFM Editor XI Supported Versions .
- Project files created in earlier versions of ArcGIS Pro will be converted to ones usable by Pro 3.1 upon the first save. There will be a prompt about this, but note that these files will no longer be usable in earlier versions of Pro after saving. Significant functionality will not work until these project files are saved and converted.
- To be compatible with the latest version of the ArcFM UN Whitepaper, you must install Editor patch 2.0.1. See ArcFM Configuration for the Utility Network for details on the changes.
ArcFM Autoupdater XI
- ArcFM Autoupdater XI 2025 C1
- To configure Autoupdaters, you must install the SOI file (ArcFM_Autoupdater_XI.soe) on your ArcGIS Enterprise. See ArcFM Autoupdater XI Configuration Docs for detailed instructions.
- Additionally for AUs, you need to make sure you have installed ArcGIS Server 11.1 Utility Network and Data Management Patch 3.
- To download the ArcFM_Autoupdater_XI.soe file, as well as Autoupdater samples and development guide, see ArcFM Editor XI Product Downloads.

Perform the following steps, in sequence, to manually update from a prior installation of ArcFM Editor to 2024 C1:
- Open ArcGIS Pro and uninstall the ArcFM Editor XI Add-in.
- Restart ArcGIS Pro, validate that the Add-in is no longer installed.
- Close ArcGIS Pro.
- Follow the instructions in ArcFM Editor XI Configuration Docs to complete the installation.
- Verify that the latest version of ArcFM Editor XI matches by comparing the reported versions in the Add-in manager section and the ArcFM Editor XI back-page.

Known Issues
- Barrier features will always be returned in Isolation traces, which could potentially result in “Out of Service” features returned in the Isolation trace results. An enhancement request has been submitted to Esri to fix this. In the meantime, a Named Trace can be used, as this functionality was released as part of ArcFM Editor 11.5.2.
- The calendar control in the Attribute Editor on the Targets pane doesn't launch a calendar. This is an issue we've submitted to Esri and expect to fix in a future release. (EXI-9367)
- The Validation Assistant works with the v4 UN data model, but note that there is no tooling to fix errors with non-spatial features. This will be enhanced in a future Editor XI release (EXI-3894).
- Temporary Squeeze offs fail to follow features if a move edit is executed – When using the temporary squeeze off tool, avoid performing edits on the feature for which the squeeze offs are placed. We will resolve this with the addition of a long-term squeeze off feature that will be part of a future Editor XI release.
- Phase Assign Tool shows up on Gas Templates - The Phase Assign Tool can be assigned to all templates, including Gas/Pipeline templates. This is expected behavior as these construction tools cannot separate between individual utility network domains.
- Operating Tie devices using the Component Info tool will not backfeed the feeder - Using the Component Info tool to close tie devices can lead to update subnetwork issues where the subnetwork is in a multi-fed state which will fail upon updating the subnetwork.
- Session Manager supports only one open map at a time. Should a map contain layers from different feature services, Session Manager will not load the session. This issue will be addressed in a future release (EXI-3859).
- When using the Flow Direction tool, for flow direction to accurately stop at open devices in the electric data, the devices must have the network category of ‘Disconnect’ applied to them. This issue will be addressed in a future release.
- The Subnetwork Management Pane is obscured when the ribbon is minimized (EXI-2095). This will be fixed in a future release of Editor XI. the map or selecting a non-EXI pane will re-enable the button.
- Snapping to features based on Utility Network rules will disable and template will snap to ALL features if the select tool is activated, and then the same template is then re-enabled. This issue is currently resolved in Pro 3.3, and expected to be resolved in Pro 3.1 under Esri case #03632875.
- The Version Changes button on the Session Manager tab will only be enabled when the workspace is selected on the Data Source section of the Contents pane. This is an Esri limitation that will be addressed by changing the visibility of the Versioning tab in Pro 3.5 under Esri Case #03640823.
